Letting go or letting in?

"The best way out is always through."
- Robert Frost
For me healing and growing is not always about letting go. It’s about letting in.
It’s about being aware of what I feel, understand where it comes from and sit with it.
It’s about letting it go deep.
It’s very similar to the body awareness work in the Pilates world.
I need enough awareness to feel how my body moves in the Pilates studio and I need enough awareness to feel the feelings in my body and allow them to move through.
However, sometimes because of past experiences sitting with feelings is not easy. It requires courage. It requires vulnerability. It requires patience. It requires trust.
Can it come with frustration, anger, desire to give up? Totally!
And I will take the time to sit with these feelings too and I will make room for them as well.
It’s about being true to my feelings. It’s about listening to what my feelings have to tell me. It’s about choosing not to run away from my feelings. It’s about choosing to also not make them bigger than what they are. It’s about finding a balance. It’s about giving my experiences the attention they deserve. And I will do this until I will be truly and fully ready to shift.
It may take a moment, or it may take a few years. And it’s about being ok if I forget about all of these and fall into past patterns again and again. The trick is to not shame myself if this happens but rather to acknowledge it and move forward. Step by step.
It is usually when we have reached rock bottom in our lives that we call on something deeper, that we no longer look outside of ourselves for the answers, but instead we look within.
Embrace the journey, challenge yourself with curiosity and compassion, be patient and keep your support system close to your heart. And if you struggle then please don’t hesitate to ask for help. You don’t have to go through this alone.
Love,
Magda
